ATC, Dynaudio, VOLT, Seas, Morel, Accuton, Focal, Eton..
This is gonna digress to a bit of DIY.. IF you know the drivers IF you know the Cabinet Volume & Design IF you know the Crossover Network Then, You can potentially produce a very similar result. |

I wonder how the studios go about choosing their speaker systems? Most revealing speakers, most musical, full-range response?

They choose loudspeakers solely on performance and flat frequency response. Moreover their rooms are specifically designed for creating audio (music) where you living room or listening room is not.
Afterthought, if you are listening to Music on different speakers than the mastering engineer, are you not getting the true representation of that engineer? In other words when we mix and match all out stuff, we get a translation.. and we don't know how far from the truth we are. Most think, if it sounds good then, ignorance is bliss. -----I'm not sure if those aren't the Back surrounds (perhaps in that picture we cannot see the Side surrounds).

And it's most likely just for show.
