While its output stage operates in Class AB mode, it uses a THX-patented feed-forward error correction circuit to virtually eliminate crossover distortion making it sound more like a pure Class A amp. It utilizes a Class H tracking switched mode power supply design which allows it to operate at an efficiency more typical of Class D amps at over 90%. Quite a unique design which offers an exceptional value.

Thank you for defining that point for me. Now. I'm even more interested in the Benchmark versus Job!

Very interesting amp. I have had their DAC1 for years, and now their DAC3 and if the amp is as good as their other gear, it will be awesome. I really respect their design philosophy and attention to detail. I'm a bit amp, rich at this point, but it is great to have a value offering to recommend to others. Thanks for all the info.

Feed-forward or feed-back, it all really amounts to the same thing. With feed-forward it's only the error signal that's inverted and re-injected into the signal path (x gain), so any advantages are more to do with the overall topology than with error correction methods.

That said, the AHB2 is a performer on the test bench that few amplifiers can touch.

Even without hearing them I know they will sound different, based on experience with lateral mosfet designs. Lats create slightly softer transients and a a bit less impact and bass control, but if well implemented can deliver a very sweet, seductive mid and treble.

How about a new one with a 10% discount? The discount is a RMAF show special.
Use the discount code BENCHMARKRMAF2017 at checkout. It expires Wednesday at midnight.

This is a amp I’ve been considering as a upgrade from my First Watt F6.
The benchmark amp should be here before the end of the week!

@RMAF this weekend I heard a pair of these run as monoblocs driving a pair of ML's. Source was a Benchmark DAC3 HGC. Sounded great!

The amp arrived today! After only a couple of albums, this is probably a keeper.
