Hi Glen,

I haven’t had much time to listen to the E-800 this week. It is showing some interesting characteristics, sonically. It certainly has loads of power. That is for sure!

Does it have the presentation I am looking for? Not sure I can say yet.

I will be bringing in some other pieces to compare it with. Should be fun.

Hi Glenn,

Tubes may very well be in the future.

Since this is an Accuphase thread, I will not mention the other brands I will be bringing in for the shoot out, but one combination will be solid state and the other, tubes.

I will probably start another thread on the findings. At this level, it certainly boils down to personal preference and synergy with other components. Certainly not throwing stones at the E-800 by any means.

I am pretty sure I said it before already but I sure would like to read a thread about your audio journey of the past few years. You are one of the few who can compare and contrast top end integrated amps. Especially Accuphase and Luxman class A offerings.

Yes Greg, you have had a plethora of integrateds in and out of your system. You have a veritable cornucopia of knowledge in this genre of audiophilia.

Lars - I love your sarcasm !

I am far from a knowledgeable person when it comes to audiophilia.

I would characterize myself more as being experienced at purchasing, unboxing, listening, listing, re-boxing and shipping !

Well said, Greg.

Perhaps audio nirvana is periodic change?
