Default My experience with Zitron Cobra and Black Mamba CX PC

Recently, purchased 1 Shunyata Zitron Cobra and 2 Shunyata Black Mamba CX PC cords.

The Zitron Cobra is for Pure Power 2000. I have 3 other Shunyata PC all are Helix Alpha Python. I moved the Helix Alpha Python to the McIntosh 501's and C46. This was an improvement from the previous cords on these pieces. Now all my main audio pieces have Shunyata PC cords. Sort of a certain synergy when all PC are the same.

The Zitron Cobra claims to let music flow more thur your cable and this is what I experienced. Seemed like the music was louder at the same volume I use to play it. Seems the Zitron Cobra PC lets the music just flow thru the cable without colorization or obscure it in anyway.

Installed the 2 Black Mamba CX PC cords on the PS Audio transport and Dac. Heard again how easily the music flow thru the cable even in first few minutes of installing them.

At first the cables had a heavy sort of non-defined bass that quickly cleared up in 2 hours to a defined bass with extended low end. Highs came in crystial clear and could hear the Drum Cymbals more pronounced and detailed. Mids sound golden. I now refer to the music as "liquid". Now had the cables in for about 5 weeks of continuous use and it really broken in and their performance is really shinning.

I turned off the stereo one night and next morning my wife said what happen to the sound of the stereo. It did not sound effortless and musical. It sounded dull almost a diminished sound. Now I realize I need to leave everything on just to get that special sound immediately.

Also my wife and I were listening this morning and she said I never heard that sound from a CD that we have heard many many times. So we are rediscovering our music collection.

PS: Thanks to all AA/Audiogon members who have recommended these PC.

Great combo Phil_er_up - a Zitron Cobra in front with the Black Mambas downstream is doing it for me as well... looks like we upgraded in tandem... and any wife that approves of upgrades on power cables is really golden, no upgrades needed there
