Default Amp Discussion

Richard Schram & John Curl discussing amplifiers. It's interesting.

John Curl is a way smart guy and a very good designer. The Halo amps are very well done too. And the parasound in that price range are very good per the $$$$ gear. I still own a few of them in each line.

Pacific stereo chain as Richard talks about had some way nice stuff in house to back in the day

Richard also speaks wise of his company and as well most likely this is the reason many hi-end companies DO NOT make surround gear, multi disc players etc these days!

The firmware software updates is a constant to stay relevant. Sure wish it was not so, I sure wish Esoteric and others still made nice multi players.

Also John talks about the wall of sound days, Mark Livingston and the Dead etc. I great listen guys! John has really been around also was at Ampex too, even did stuff for Wilson Audio etc... that is how I 1st ran into him years ago in the tape world

I didn't finish the presentation, actually. I would like to when I have time. I hd a brief e-mail exchange with Mr. Schram back when I was considering new power amps, and he seemed like a nice person.

The main reason I didn't get JC 1s was how hot they run (25w of class A will do that). I also preferred black components (the Halo series didn't come in black then).

I watched the rest of it. It was indeed interesting. And even through my computer, it sounded pretty good.
