I had a balanced Wind Interconnect and tried it in several locations in my system. I did not like It, too bright for me. I tend not to like silver cables for this reason. Actually I preferred Earth, because it's copper, sounds smoother in my system. To me less was more. If you choose Aspen speaker cable which is copper, I would stay with copper interconnects so all have similar characteristics.

Ehrm.
I bought the Fire months ago. The Fire has nothing to do with the thin sound Wind.
the Fire is very full and rich and overall really really really impressive.
The speaker Cable is Oak. But some day i will upgrade to Redwood. I already had a demo cable here.

But i will upgrade to WEL Signature which should arrive next week.
The Fire will be reassembled from RCA to XLR and moves to my Computersystem as i make some music with my Synthesizers. The Event Opal-Speakers (shortrange) are great, but it will be better with the Fires.
