Orion makes exceptional sake-bombs, by the way (seriously). Echigo and Yebisu are very delicious beers; Echigo is a light lager, whereas Yebisu is a dark malted lager, and has heavier body.

As far as Sake's go, stick with just about any Daigingo and you should be good to go! Sake should always be served cold.
This is news to me, that Sapporo is brewed in Canada. Since when?

Sadly, every other country's beer I've seen go to Canada, has turned to ass. Mark

You guys really need to try out sushi (or any sea living food) with a nice unfiltered weissbier. Gastronamic success!

I am probably alone here but most of the time I enjoy a red wine that has been aged in my wine cellar with my sushi, in particular a nice Pinot Noir or a red zinfandel is my favorite which goes very well. I avoid cabernet, burgandy ie wines with tannins with fish but love it with meat . Also if you want to taste the wine go light on the wasabi and soy sause. On occasion I will drink a white wine such as savon blanc ( chardonay is too dry for me ) and I am not into sweet wines that much, like riesling or pinot grigio. I also like sushi sometimes with beer.

I've never been a wine with sushi guy...I prefer to let the sushi stand on its own. I have some friends that are huge saki fans, but I don't really know anything about the stuff.

Sorry, I didn't notice this post months ago... Sleeman Brewery

Sapporo also owns Yebisu, which I mentioned above (and that is still brewed only in Japan).

News to me that Sapporo is now from canada? All the Sapporo I have ever drank was from Japan.

For sure, without a doubt, any imported that canada gets their hands on turns to "instant crap".
I see Guinness is now coming from canada as well.
