Enjoy the test drive. I think you'll be impressed with the silky smooth evenness throughout the range.

Spent some quality time today listening to the Salon 2's. Man what a superb speaker, it just does everything right. Dynamics and 'attack' on all things percussion were superb, piano rivaled or perhaps bettered my beloved Logans (I've long felt electrostatics nail the piano), soundstage was of proper depth as was imaging. Off axis listening of these speakers is some of the best I've ever heard, I know, listening to electrostatics it 's an easy improvement !
While I didn't get to hear the Studio 2's (my more likely choice) the dealer believes they are 85% of the Salon's .............. as I said to the boys over on the Logan forum, I think I'm 'smitten' ! |

Glad you enjoyed listening to the Salon 2s. This is a fantastic speaker. The Studio 2 has the same sonic signature but a bit lighter on the bottom end.
I had a pair of Salon 2s for several years. Enjoyed them immensely.

Yes, almost the very same here. I've owned 4 pairs of speakers since 1990. On all criteria, the Salons are far ahead of all of the others. Without getting into a long story, let me just say that, quite literally the moment that I connected the Salons, my wife - always the naysayer on my purchases, acknowledged the superiority of the speakers. I owned the 'paradigms for two years and loved them. There are important comparisons between the Paradigms and the Salons - they both include well executed beryllium tweeters. However, the integration of sound , across the frequency range, separates the Salons and places them qualitatively ahead. The only thing that I'm concerned about is whether I'm getting the best out of the Salons. In terms of placement, I've got little or no room to play with and because of their proximity to walls and doors, I'm am pretty certain that the Salons could use some knowledgable person juggling them about a bit. The salons have a switch in the back to compensate for less than ideal placement. You can try that as well. Pete

Guys
wanted to check in - haven't been on because I've been enjoying the F208's so much. After the break in period, the highs settled in perfectly and the balance is so smooth and just right! I'm enjoying my music collection so much! That's probably the highest compliment I can give these speakers. Interestingly, there are some records that didn't sound quite right with my previous set up, which I chalked up to bad recordings and or bad mixing, all of a sudden, they sound quite right. Anyways, very impressed with Harman / Revel and the amazing F208's! Here are my current set ups: Main Stereo Listening: Revel F208 (finish is hard to photograph, very shiny, driven by Parasound Jc1's. I just moved the VPI table from between the power amps closer to where I store the vinyl. Headphone system with KEF LS50 / Woo Audio and Aragoon 8008 Home Theater (no center channel - maybe after Winter ) B&W 802D2 Marantz, Oppo (gear hiding) - you can see the Sunfire Signature though
