Default New Here, my Introduction

Greetings all,

I have been into audio since the very early 70's and many pieces of equipment have come and gone through my house. After a frustrating Summer of breaking in new speakers, I realized I wanted more. I purchased 6 pieces of McIntosh at 4 different times from Audio Classics between October 2017- Feb 2018. I started off upgrading my secondary system which I listen to many hours a day. I purchased a McIntosh MA6600 integrated, MCD301 SACD player, MR85 tuner which compliments my Sony Music Server and Golden Ear Triton One speakers quite well.

I then focused on my main system which had the new speakers pretty much broken in. I went with a McIntosh C2500 tube preamp, MC152 power amp, MR88 tuner which compliments another Sony music server, an Esoteric SACD player and the Golden Ear Triton Reference speakers.

I am ashamed to say I used to think McIntosh was expensive audio which only doctors and lawyers had who really didn't care about sound. I am totally hooked now. The fit and finish of the equipment, the silky feel of the knobs, everything feels like pure luxury. Both my systems have never sounded better and I am quite pleased, although my checkbook isn't. I look forward to engaging in many conversations going forward.

Bob

Welcome to the Mcintosh club. It’s funny I used to think Mcintosh was
expensive now I feel it is good value. Their amplifiers are particularly
affordable if you weigh in the watts per dollar.
