Unless you have a tv on top of your rack, why not place the amp on the top shelf? Otherwise, sounds like it might be time for a new rack.

Mine has been "good" with my 5-6 years of audio upgrades, takes our living room to watch her TV shows, while I'm "hiding out" in my "man cave" (family room downstairs.
At one point she let me know that she didn't want to know how much I was spending on this hobby!

Absolutely correct. One has to factor duty cycle of the program - widely accepted as 50% for heavily compressed music played back at clipping. And we audiophiles don't play heavily compressed music at clipping ... !
