Unhappy My little buddy is really sick

Saturday I noticed Charlie had a swollen flew. About five minutes later the other was swollen as well ,another five minutes and his eyelids were swollen too.

I taken to the vet where he was given a shot of the Benadryl and a shot of prednisone. Ever since then he is then really woozy and very nauseated any advice ? The vet thinks that it was a Spider bite or an ant bite.

Doug.......I am sorry to hear about Charlie's health. It is highly unlikely an ant bite would do this. He was probably sniffing around and a damn spider bit him. I hope he recovers quickly. Spider bites can be nasty for pets and humans.

So sorry Doug, what about take him back to the vet, put him on an IV for a few hours and some B-12? Sometimes some extra fluids and antibiotics with B12 and in a day or 2 they little guys bounce back quick? Had to do that 2 years ago for one of mine Goldens and she was like a new dog 2 days later. When I took her in she would not even eat a puppy snack. And that tells you how ill she was...

Other than that Prayers sent for your buddy.

Just for all pet owners to know if you end up having an emergency allergic reaction you can give 1mg of Benadryl per pound of body...up to 2mg if really needed. The 25mg capsules are great because they can be broken open and rubbed on their gums for fast action. Could be any sort of bite, but I shouldn't expect it to last too long with the antihistamine and corticosteroid.

I had something like this with my ridgeback when she was real young and her eyes ended up almost swelling shut. Scary but with the right meds to make sure breathing & everything is unimpaired you should be seeing quite a bit of improvement by now I am guessing?
