@DownUnder - I worked with GIK Acoustics on the acoustical treatment. I provided room dimensions, speaker and seating positions and they provided suggestions on treatment. I have floor to ceiling bass traps in 3 corners (can't fit them in the 4th) and and panels at the first reflection points. I built a custom panel to cover the marble/glass fireplace. I still need to treat the ceiling above the listening area (due to a ~70Hz null from the 8' ceilings) and add some diffusion at the back of the room.

What drew you to the B&K preamp? Just curious as I had one sort of drop into my lap recently. (And I really know very little about it)

I've had the B&K Preamp since 1993 or so along with a matching EX-442 amp. Right now it serves as phono-pre only, feeding my Pass XP-20. It's a good solid pre, a little warm and fuzzy sounding but it still works great. Someday I'll need to pass these along to a new owner - it is truly bulletproof gear still working perfectly after all these years.
