Default Aurender N100H display screen failure

As luck would have it, I have a service issue with my living room system music server. My Aurender N100H music server AMOLED screen failed. I usually keep the screen set to display the artist and song titles then turn off. Last week I began to notice the display becoming dimmer by the day. Then two days ago the screen turned whitish pink in color and froze. The Aurender Conductor app would no longer communicate with the screen. I could not turn it off. A hard reboot of the music server did nothing to correct the problem. When playing songs the music server continued to perform flawless, just the screen failed. Aurender's excellent customer service answered my support email within half an hour, immediately issued me an RMA number, and the N100H was shipped back to the Irvine, California service center yesterday for a new AMOLED screen to be installed. Thank goodness I have other source components in the living room sound system so I am not high and dry without music.

Default Aurender N100H display screen failure

Do you think that’s a result of leaving it on 24/7?

Ed.......No, I don't think so. I have the display set to turn off, so it only displays the artist and song title for about 10 seconds then goes back to off. I have the N10 in the studio system set the same way, left on in sleep mode just like the N100H was set up in the living room system. I have had no issues with the screen on the N10 and it is nearly 3 years old. I suspect the N100H AMOLED screen just had a premature failure in less than 2 years.

Ed.......I hear you. The N100H should be back in a couple of weeks. The good news is I still have my Simaudio Moon 260D transport feeding the Yggdrasil DAC, along with my turntable, tuner, digital audio tape machine, and cassette deck. Lots of other source components to tide me over. I'll survive, and of course the studio two channel system is right downstairs. So is the vintage system. I think I can make it. .

Is that a Nakamichi BX-300 cassette deck in the rack?

Well that stinks. At least their customer service seems to be extremely responsive. Hopefully you’ll get it back in pristine condition real soon.

Mike.......Yes, it was quite a surprise. When the display first began looking dim I rebooted the server hoping that would straighten out the issue, but it did not solve the problem. Against all odds I was hoping it would self-resolve, but no luck. When the screen went to a solid color and the Conductor app no longer controlled the screen's functions I knew it was time the N100H took a trip to Aurender’s service center. Parts will fail from time to time. All we can do is deal with it.
