Should I stick to my guns? Any advantages to a room that is 13 vs 17' wide? Thanks Tim
13' is too narrow in my opinion. Stick to your guns!

+1. You can always box around the poles with some Sheetrock an hang some pictures.

I will be auditioning the 20.7. Does anyone have a sub with this speaker?

In my opinion, the 20.7 does not need a subwoofer. Most subwoofers are too slow to match well with it. You may want to try the Magnepan DWM bass panel instead. Here's a link to the explanation why:

Nicoff

Thank you for your reply. Did you try with and without the subs. So, I guess your system sounds better with?

I had the 20.1 prior to the 20.7. I used the 20.1 without subs for a while but added the subs afterwards. By the time I got the 20.7 I already had the subs. I experimented listening to the 20.7 full range without the subs. But bass was missing. I settled on using a crossover and letting the subs handle the lower frequencies. The subs bring a more lifelike music listening experience. But as always, YMMV.

I did....and I WON! . Room will be 17x30. Poles will be Sheetrock. Two will be encased and made into a shelf/table next to couch which will be the seated position.

Any ideas on how to make one pole behind the speaker more diffusive ?

I love this hobby. I have two people around me that get it. Everybody else says 'you're doing what????...paying what???' I've been like this since I was 10.

When I demo'd them a sub didn't enter my mind for a second. But room size I'm sure could dictate that

Nicoff. Could you tell us your room size and speaker position? Amp or amps? I like to make an educated guess on my situation once done.
