Default Should I swap my PV14?

There's a reasonably price CJ PV15 with the teflon caps upgrade on audiogon right now. The PV15 is the replacement for the PV14 so it's newer also. Should I buy it to compare with my PV14? BTW, love the PV14. Advice welcome. Thx.

That may answer your question.

Advice? I'm leery about giving any aside from returning to an earlier-made point about the possibility of finding out whether the love you have for your PV14 is enhanced by the musical synergy you might experience with a c-j amp.

i agree.

I would explore a C-J amp with your PV14 first and live with it for a while...better part of a year at the very least. There will always be another PV15 down the road if you still want to explore something further up the line.

Jax....imho if I had to choose a new preamp I shall go towards an ET2 or a Prem 17 rather than a PV15

Agreed, that's what I was thinking, also.
