Default Tandberg 10X issues
I have owned the unit since new had it refurbished about 20 years ago and put it into storage pulled it out a few years back and started using it again for parties and office listening.

The other day the left motor stopped working without any warning. Is it worth repairing and if so who would you recommend working on it. The unit is in pristine condition with low hours.

Anthony.......Try contacting mark@sound-smith.com for Tandberg repairs. Another option would be to buy a used Tandberg 10X on eBay and swap the motors yourself.

Thanks. I think I will open it up first not sure if it is the motor or a wiring issue. Strange the way it was working perfectly one day and the next time I turned it on nothing.

If that isn't the issue I will inquire to see if it is cost effective to repair. Or see if he will sell me a motor. I have owned it for so long it is hard to part with.

I don't know about the electronics in the motor supply but these units have the lousy Frako caps. Sound-Smith would have the answer to that issue if they are willing to conjecture without seeing the unit for a full rebuild.
