I agree. I actually like the current face plate better. it has a simple elegance about it and it matches my SP3.

According to this report from HiFi+ the new Bryston 7B3 monoblock amplifiers will retail for $10,400/pair. However I just saw a post from James on another forum that the price was still unknown at the time, so that price may well be incorrect.

It is great to have such upgrade options, especially up here in Canada.

James,
As many of us had trouble fitting spades into the plastic covered binding posts on the SST2 is there any chance for an "improvement" there?

I appreciate you even considering an upgrade path for us

That would be USD? I wonder what the price will be in CAD.

hmmm I didn't know there were issues so this is a potenial concern as I was planning on getting Furutech spades on my next speaker cable purchase.

Can you elaborate on where the problem lies?

You have to be careful with fancy spades. Too big and the plastic shroud on the amp posts will interfere with the spade body, preventing full insertion. Too small and the spade forks won't be spaced wide enough to embrace the internal post. I was using small Cardas spades and still had to cut off a bit of the plastic shroud on the amps to get them in, and it was a tight fit on the posts.

Yikes! Not good, that's definitely something I want to avoid for sure. I know there are a couple common spade widths, appx. 1/4 inch / 6.4mm and appx.5/16 inch / 8.1mm

The Furutech CF-201(R)'s are the latter at 8.0mm. I guess it's just a matter of the size of the Bryston Binding post. The CF-201's do have a large fancy barrell beyond the spade though which as you experience could possibly cause a connectivity issue.

Something to keep in mind for sure. Thanks

Yes that would be in USD, but as I mentioned James said that the price was not actually set at that point in time. Last I saw James had posted that he was expecting to have the Cubed amp pricing announced this week.

I don't have any complains with the BSST2 and with the up and coming upgrades to Cube I am sure it will sound even better.

My only wish is if it is possible to upgrade the speaker terminals. The current terminal will do the job if the spades fits but not all spades will and I have tried some. Definitely every problem has a solution. Wouldn't it be better if this pain point was addressed?

There are so many options available and these have been used in many top end speakers and amplifiers. Take for examples WBT-0705 or WBT- 0702 a proven products and common preference too.

Bryston has been my reference amplifier for some time. I really would like to see it adds a small touch of refinement here. I am more then happy to pay for it
