Yes that is good information, but not necessarily the gospel of 6h30 tube recognition. I have some 6h30 tubes from the late 90s that have the identifying marks of an older 6h30-dr (ie large hat getter).

i like the vintage 6H30-DR tube so much I bought a second set off ebay. Killer up-grade for $135

I sincerely hope that all is well with your DR purchases Ronin , however I would point out that NOS markings , ie; Date codes , are relatively easy to reproduce on a later glass envelope , It is the combination of the 4 main points of identification which when applied to ones DR's may lead to peace of mind .

I would also add to the points list a minor dissimilarity between later and early production class envelopes , the latter I have found to be very slightly fatter in girth and marginally thicker at the point where the sides turn to the base plane.

There are of course always slight variations in glass envelope production however I have found these minor points to be consistent so far between NOS and later production.

Jasper.

Harlequin, Take the stick out of your ass. Anything can be faked. Pay your money and take your chances. What is your agenda here? What is/was the agenda of the person whom put of the website? I like the tubes. stir, sip move on.

My My Ronin , Are you always this touchy with well meaning folk who are merely proffering a helping hand !!!

Perhaps were you to take your own 'tęte hors de celles cul' you may just realize that this thread is not All About You and my agenda, were I indeed to have one , would be to assist, hopefully , All members in avoiding falling into the Fakers Pit !

I can but conclude from your Little Hissy Fit that upon educating yourself in this matter you may well indeed have been taken for a fool, and indeed reside in an appropriate location.

I can but strive to refrain from assisting you in the future.

I got my second set of vintage 6h30-dr tubes from ebay, 1979 date code, This tube has all the check-points, smooth fins, hat type getter etc. A very solid tube the glass is thicker and the tube weighs a few grams more than an EB tube. I'm very pleased. Now I can go back to painting all my ARC coupling caps RED..I hear its the new white.. haha
