Default Home Theater Basement Build
I bought a new house further outside of town. Neighbor complained about my perfectly angelic pit bull. Anyway, time to get out of the city.

Took an upgrade on size and the basement is large enough to fit a home theater.

I want to use my Vandersteen 5As and the Ref. 150.

Wife will probably give me a ~$20k budget for equipment. Not including cables, furniture, install etc.

Looking for bang/buck.

I am thinking a JBL cinema pro center, surrounds, and subwoofers. An Integra 9 channel receiver, a two-channel preamplifier with a HT bypass.

Need 100" inch screen suitable for center channel behind screen. Need projector suitable for gaming (low lag, good contrast).

Also, looking for suggestions on seating, treatment to the drywall, which components need a dedicated circuit?

Karl... A perforated projection screen is a mistake; I know, because I made that mistake. Cost me thousands to correct it.

OK, then this will give me room for the Vandersteen center. Probably now an external set of subs. JL Audio?

I would agree... I was contemplating a perf screen at one point and requested about 6 different samples from companies. I felt like every one of them degraded the image. I have no idea what it would have done to the sound but It wasn't worth it purely due to the image.

Dan, it was tempting, but that was really just the final push. We currently live in an old part of the city where the houses are from the 30s and WAY too close to each other. Let's just say it will be nice to walk through my kitchen in my shorts on a Saturday and not have to wave to my neighbor in his kitchen, in his shorts.
