Temperature on Pioneer Elite Plasma
Have had the tv for about 3 years. Just finished watching about 5 hours of college football. Room was getting real warm. Checked the temperature on my equipment with an infrared thermometer and the Pioneer Plasma was 136 degrees! Is that a normal operating temperature?
Power Plant Premier was 108 Classe Amp was 113 It was hot in my 14 * 20 room!! Thanks!

It was probably the negatively charged Tennessee fans rushing toward the positively charged Exit signs causing it to overheat.

Ha! If it reached 136 degrees this year, just wait till next year.
I have a Samsung 64" Plasma Series 8000 (PN64D8000FF) and it runs pretty warm. I've never checked the actual temperature but it's enough to heat up the room when all the McIntosh gear and TV is operating. I have six CoolerGuys fans on the back of my audio rack that start up at 85 degrees and the top 3 fans come on much quicker if the TV is on. By the end of an action packed movie all six fans are usually running. The bottom three rarely ever come on listening to music, so the Plasma is definitely pumping out some heat. I'll try to get a temp check the next time it's been on for several hours and post the result. Terry

My 60 inch Kuro is warm at the heat vents near the top on the backside but the rest of the back is room temperature -- without an infrared thermometer, I am uncertain of the temp at the vents but doubt it reaches 136 F.
Was yours hot at the screen, at the vents or all over the backside? MikeSp

My 60" Pioneer Elite has been on all day. It's on the wall so i can't touch much of the back, but what i can touch is cool except for the top rear. The top rear is quite warm, not to warm to keep my fingers on it tight though.
