Buck, I see what your saying but I still don't buy into it. With all the variables we have in our system to 'influence' sound (source component(s), preamp, amp, speakers and room) the last thing I'd want is more variables !!

Dave - yeah, I'm with you as far as a personal opinion. At least with me being seriously anal retentive, you can drive yourself crazy examining every single variable and how it can influence sound. I'm kind of glad I'm not wealthy enough to order cables from MIT, Transparent, Kimber, Audioquest, Wireworld, Tara, etc and have late night cable shootouts until 5 AM! Again, I'm not a physicist, but it just seems contrary to logic that a networked cable would produce a more accurate sound unless it was specifically tailored to the shortcomings of the audio system it was being hooked up to. Now a more pleasing sound based on X, then I can see how it would work based on a demo in someone's particular system.

I just connected the MIT speakers cables to my TAD R1's / Bryston 28B-3 / Esoteric rig.

First impressions on stone cold out of the box, very little if any difference from my WW Platinum Eclipse 7's.

MIT says break-in as follows 2/2

2 days - 75% break in
2 weeks - 100% broken in

We shall see...

My Shootout between the new MIT cables and my WW Platinum Eclipse cables ended today.

It was very close, in fact I involved my son and son in law to help me make the final decision.

My WW Platinum cables are staying. They simply present a better sound stage, and consistently give me goose bumps. This, as we all know is a very subjective and personal choice.

With my selection of gear, the WW cables are the winner; at least for me.

Interesting result although not entirely surprising.....is this the kind of decision that would prevent you from carrying the line or would there still be room for another high end line of cables??

I have two sets of mono sub speaker cables and have never even used them, lol. One is 14’ and the other is 48’ long. Yes that’s 48 feet. Lol. They are from the old line of the avt series S1
I’m sure I’ll never use them. Just been sitting in the box looking all pretty. I don’t know how to add pics here or I would show them off
But boy they feel so sweet in my hands and I bet they sound great. The paper work says it takes two weeks to break in fully

I swapped interconnects on the cd player. removed a ribbon ic and replaced with an MIT Magnum MA xlr which was on the phono preamp. I believe now that it's in the correct place. Very nice.

I've used and auditioned many Transparent cables. I am now using Wireworld. The Transparent cables are typically a shade darker and fuller flavor. Not that it is a bad thing, depends on your preference and system synergy. The Wireworld have more of a "golden glow" and shimmer up top that is quite addicting and more natural to my ears. The midrange is stunningly beautiful, especially with female voices on Wireworld which I have not noticed with Transparent. I was using top notch gear in the Transparent days. Wilson Sasha, Alexia and D'Agostino monos so had a good reference. I don't have the same gear but I can deduce that on my present gear, it would be a similar result since I still have some Transparent ICs. Both are excellent, just depends where you want to take your system.
