You may be able to guess my initial impressions by the photos [emoji3]

I'll write a more thoughtful review a bit later this evening.

Looks like the gear list will have to change - Congratulations!

I'm new to the tube thing, but I fear that I'll fall into that, too :-) Golden Lions, perhaps....

As promised, a comparison, but I must give the disclaimer that the C2600 is brand new, and has very few hours on it.

After listening extensively to my C47, I swapped in the C2600 and let it warm up for about 1/2 hour before playing anything through it. I was really struck by how much deeper the soundstage is between the two units. The most striking difference, however is the character of the mid range and sweetness of the highs. In addition, the bass just seems more controlled and "real"; very present, round, and authoritative without being abrupt. It really is a very musical piece. Of particular note is how quiet, and transparent the C2600 is. It's similar to the C47, but just exhibits more of the qualities I love about the C47 without being as analytical in my system. The synergy in my particular system seems to favor the C2600.

Don't get me wrong, the C47 is no slouch!! I've been incredibly happy with it. The best way I can describe it is that the C47 presents music very, very well, but music seems to just flow out of the C2600. I'm new to tubes in my system, and I can already tell that I'm a fan. I'll post more after everything breaks in a bit. So far, so good!

Unfortunately, blind testing was not a possibility, due to the way my system is set up.

Keep it going!...I just scored a nice trade up deal with my Magnolia Dealer. Only had the c47 six months. Love it. And truly theres nothing I don't like. Paired with a MC452 and GoldenEar Triton 1's at times can be a little bright? IDK...those T1's don't miss much. So am hoping the c2600 will smooth things out a bit. Going to demo of course before I actually trade.

Thx again for the review.....very helpful. Tell us if you are demo'ing digital music and vinyl?
