A at the Amp and 3 at the speaker. Not sure about shielded though.

Strange, one of my cables has a "3" at both the amp and speaker end?

AFAIK the construction of the cable is non-directional, the A/3 tip is probably to help you maintain the orientation of the cable after break-in or component changes, early versions of the cable had plain black/red heatshrink without "Auditorium 23" markings. The cable is also non-shielded.

Hmmm. Matt at Pitch Perfect was quite specific with me saying that it is directional. Perhaps he should chime in here...?

Matt advised me as well ( I bought mine from him ).

I hope he won't mind me quoting him,


"btw, the A23 speaker wire is directional - the "A" in Auditorium plugs into the amp side and read to the speakers, with the "3" being at the speaker input."
