オーディオスクェア藤沢店のブ*グ: 6月下旬発売開始。Accuphaseの新型プリア ンプ『C-2850』を先行試聴させて*きました。

Translated by Google from Japanese:

-In the "C-2820", the volume display was a display of dot matrix,
in order to enhance the visibility of "C-2850", it has been changed to LED display.

- "C-2820" is equipped with a total of 18 pieces of "VI conversion amplifier". The top two circuit to pass on most of the volume, it is operated in parallel (2 circuit at a time use), it was aimed at a higher S / N of. This "C-2850", as well as the top-level model "C-3850", equipped with a total of 20 pieces of the "VI conversion amplifier", of the top two circuits, "1/2" circuit 4 circuit parallel, "1/4" circuit has 2 to circuit parallel operation of. This SN ratio, and 112.5dB from 111dB of "C-2820", has been 1.5dB improvement.

- (...) the number of circuits increases, so it will also increase the calorific value, along with the "C-2850" is a new circuit pattern or the like, such as to ensure the dispersion of the heat source, the thoughtful heat measures seems Accuphase conducted you have.

-From the sound with the calm of the "C-2820", it has evolved from the 40th Anniversary model "C-3800" to "C-3850", feel more real feeling and the feeling of energy, new Accuphase sound, " also in C-2800 series, "it has come to be adopted. (...) Sound image is compared to the "C-2820", is condensed, but has become a more explicit expression, is also the point that further spread the spatial representation, I feel the same direction as the "C-3850"

-Accuphase C-2850 preamplifier price 1,280,000 yen (excluding tax) in late June launch

C-2850 with 4th generation AAVA, similar to C-3850 but of course not balanced.

I have the 3850, but I may have selected the 2850 knowing it would have an option for a phonostage. Now I am needing to purchase a new phonostage.

I'm saving to C 3850 but C2850 can be the final purchase.

Inside, the C3850 looks amazing, and more heavy than the C2850.. but users often says the differences between them are not audible unless them a -b tested. Seems like the balanced technology in the AAVA(C3850) is a statement from Accuphase, how good they can build a preamp, but it costs more than it taste(HIGHEND).

A point of diminishing returns. The 3850 sounds awesome, but you may be right no audible difference with the 2850. Here in Japan the price difference would be around 4000 dollars between the two. Add the phono stage to the 2850 and it may be less. Anyone know the price for the additional phono module on the 2850? Although, if you want to here vinyl than you need to add a deprecate phonostage with the 3850 so the price just jumped. Love to see a review comparing the two units to see if you really can make out a difference. I doubt it.

Can't help you with that, sorry.

I do noticed that you haven't listed any phonostage in your signature, do you use the AD30 in the 2120?
