The Ultimate Ferrari Dino
"The car is a one-off, and it’s part of the venerable collection of classic and modern Ferraris owned by collector David Lee. By borrowing a block from the F40, losing the turbos, boring it from 2.9 to 3.6L, and fixing twin banks of velocity stacks, David’s “Monza 3.6 Evo” is a naturally-aspirated screamer that combines modern performance with the Dino’s ageless style in a package that doesn’t compromise on either end."

Serge... Thanks for posting that!
I love how Petrolicious presents their subjects. The cinemaphotography is excellent and the audio is high quality. That car sounds amazing. I can see how the Dino could have evolved into this iteration had Ferrari taken the step.

Enzo took his son's death really hard, it is said he was rarely ever seen without a black tie (perpetual mourning of his son). It is said that in Enzo's words there will only be "one and only" Dino. Even though the Dino's engine was built by Fiat, the body was designed by Pininfarina and built by Scaglietti and as far as most enthusiasts are concerned, it is still a Ferrari through and through. The Dino is a hoot to drive in its stock form, I can only imagine driving it with that F40 derived Monza 3.6L Evo engine. |
