It might be better to search out a new turntable with and quality arm in a different league than the SL1200, rather than attempt to modify the SL1200 for better performance.

I agree .....that elp tt looks like the best of both worlds , analog sound without wear and tear. Somebody should make one with the bluray lazer as it is very small and precise
