Default Power Conditioners

What are people using with MX-Rs? Given that they have the line filter built in, is adding a conditioner (I have a running springs Duke) redundant, helpful or hurtful?

dminches.......Running Springs Audio's Duke power conditioner gets very positive reviews. It is capable of handling the load of both Ayre MX-R amplifiers with power to spare. I suspect the line filtering capabilities of the Duke would exceed the line filtering at the input of the MX-R, but this is only an assumption on my part. I would try the Duke with the amps to hear if you like what it does.

Plug the MX-R's directly into the wall.

I do use Shunyata Typhon's in parallel on each amp with excellent results

+1 my MXR's go directly to the wall. Use a great power cord, I like the Shunyata's. I have tried my MXR's into my Shunyata Triton conditioner...while you can here some positive benefits, you do loose some dynamics...so right to the wall for me...

I plug direct to the wall on my MXR 20's. I use a Shunyata Sigma HC Power Cable on each. Planning on adding Typhons later this year.

Ok. I will test out taking the Duke out of the chain and plug the amps directly into the wall.

I have a similar question as well with the MX-R's going directly to the wall with just the standard kettle power cords for now. What would replacing those with the Shunyata power cords improve? What would a Triton bring to the table, apart from surge protection? Some people seem to be reporting better results with Triton. If anything, my system sounds almost ideal to me but may require a bit of control in the very far treble.

I don't use power conditioners because my power is regenerated at the rack.

This is how I power my MX-R and KX-R Twenty, I use Purepower 3000+.

I use Siltech SPX800 power cords for my Ayre KX-R and MX-R Twenty.

Just pray your PurePower+ keeps working. Mine spent 7 months waiting for spare parts from the manufacturer!
