Default BDA-3 help

Hi,

I received my new BDA-3 today! I have also ordered a BDP-2 but that one have not arrived yet so until then I play via my mac mini/JRiver. It sounds very good but I have only had time to listen a couple of minutes.

But I am not able to connect the BDA-3 to the internet following the instruction in the first text on side 9 in the manual. My router says that the connection with the BDA-3 is correct but the BDA-3 will not access the Internet.
The app MPaD can not identify the BDA-3 either.

Help!

Hi

The BDA3 does 'not' connect to the internet. It can connect to the network. To connect to the BDA-3 from a browser see the last page of the owners manual.

Sorry James. Bad/poor description from my side. I meant side 11 (the last side) and not 9...I am to tired...and I don't mean internet, I meant the network. The connection seams to be correct. The lights are flashing om both the router and the BDA-3 but when I type the adress the web browser says that that side do not exists.

It works with the IP adress to the BDA-3 instead of the web adress!

So you are typing in the 'IP' address of the BDA3 or the serial number of the BDA3 in your browser? What browser are you using?

What is your serial number? - type in the serial number and try both ways with and without Zeros

Example

http://BDA3-0000xx
http://BDA3-xx

Where X is the serial number.

I am using Chrome and Firefox on a mac mini. It didn't work with:
http://bda3-0000XX but the IP adress worked.

I haven't tried:
http://bda3-xx

Will try that also.

Hi again,

No, http://bda3-xx didn't work either. But the access with the ip adress worked well.
Now I am waIting for the new BDP-2. With little luck it will arrive tomorrow.
Then I will start trying to use the Bryston (MPD) software instead of mac mini/JRiver.

/Lasse
