Also the 808 Mk5 is possible to order with reference power supply unit. I'm thinking such upgrading.
I can't imagine either preamp being "terrible" My 077 w/ PS is pretty amazing. I am looking forward to hearing the 111 and see if I can do without a preamp because the 111 is supposed to contain a reference preamp like the 077. If it does, I will be very happy to "downsize". I am looking forward to trying my Conrad Johnson GAT (as well as the 077, of course) on the 911mk3 monos hopefully late next week.

The 077's is a reference and great preamp, this is sure. With 911's mono you'll be in the heaven. The version of 077's like yours, even I didn't listen yet, I know that the performance improve a lot better compared with integrated version as the one I tested. So in your hands you've an amazing preamp.

About the 111 is a great unit at all, but even I didn't listen yet, I can't image that you'll sound better without your 077's.

In a Burmester system the preamp is considered the "heart" of whole system.

So, when you'll make such comparison, please then share with us your interesting sound impressions.

I agree the preamp is very, very important and have always preferred one in any stereo system. As long as it (the 111 music server) sounds the same or better but not worse, I'll be happy.

Joe- just saw yesterday that you have been adding quite some gear to the collection... wow! Bet your room is starting to look like an audio shop :P. Looking forward to your impressions of the mono 911's as compared to the other great gear you have got as reference points.

Hi Joost,

I have a problem , a very nice problem. It's looking like a high end storage room. The mono 911's should be here late next week and I am very excited to hook them up. I want to hear them playing through the CJ GAT first and see what I hear. Last major thing I need a a better source. I have some ideas but just waiting to see how the 111 server shakes out.

How are you liking the CR-1's? They are amazing aren't they? I'll update when the amps arrive.
