Anyone here been running one of Dennis' PSE 20wpc amps for a while?
If so, what are your thoughts?

Also, what are a 45 PSE and OMB-25? What tubeset and output?
Is there a listing somewhere of Inspire amps so one can figure out what might work for them?

Easy to understand. Once one starts playing around with some "real" voltage" (910v B+ and higher on an 845) the safety requirements are real. Not like the 450v, or so, we generally play with.

straitwire - can you tell me more about the monoblocks you mention cutting the chassis for?

Thanks.

The 45 PSE is a Parallel Single Ended pure class A Triode circuit built on the Gas Voltage Regulated layout using 45 tubes, output is 5 wpc.

The chassis's I was cutting were for the QMB-25's, they are parallel single ended pure class A Pentode circuit monoblocs using four 6V6's per channel, they only uses 6V6's, they are rated at 25 wpc.
They are sold by Moon Audio.

straitwire,
Did you guys ever produce any more of the Inspire Monos
(6550 or 6F6 or 6F6G's)?

Hey decooney, oh yes we've made a good number of these mono blocks.

Nice! Thanks straitwire. If you can share what output tubes do they come with or can one select?

Ok. So, to clarify - can the monos be ordered “with” KT150s or do they come with something else stock?

They can be ordered with any tube your heart desires. I believe most have gone out the door with a combo of 6F6G's along with KT88's

Excellent. Are these the MB12? They "appear" to be pretty much what I'm looking for.

Can the EL34/KT77 also be rebiased to run 6550/KT88 without any wiring changes?

What would be the output for each configuration?

Ok. Reading back over prior notes, I’d likely opt for 6F6Gs with Inspire Monos.

My current mono amps from another brand (with dual KT150s) required even larger transformers and higher plate voltage to run in their optimum state for “best sound”, not just for added power. Seeing some recent-other designs running up to plate voltage of 900 volts for KT150s now. Not sure what voltage Inspire Monos run, perhaps KT150s would be overkill, waste of $. Perhaps 6F6Gs w/b better matched instead.
