Even though I had this in the BIS CD box of Grieg, I wanted to hear this on SACD and it is an excellent recording. A favorite.

Purcell - Ten Sonatas in Four Parts
Retrospect Trio

Playing gently into my practice.
I just had a colleague, a surgeon, on the phone, to talk about a patient.
He heard the beautiful sounds and he said: "Wow, what a lovely music!".
And that's just what it is!

The Linn sound quality (on the SACD layer) is superlative with great presence and transparency. Everything comes across clearly and with proper impact especially the brass. The piano sound is some of the best I've heard. This is a winner on all counts. Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOfEMvseI2g
Listening to the 24/192 download of this from Linn, and it's gorgeous. Thanks Carlos.

I'm back! Something happened to my ability to sign in, and it took a while to get it fixed. Anyway, I've been enjoying this set lately. Lots of very well recorded violin fireworks!

More musical bliss from the book above:

CD 2

Works from Gabrieli, Malvezzi, Purcell, Monteverdi, Marini, de Cabezón, Arcadelt, Holborne, Marenzio, de' Cavalieri.

The selection of the works in this collection is really done excellently.
I'm completely immersed in Sempé's world, just like I was yesterday.
