Default How To Apply A Ceramic Coating To Your Car

In case anyone is interested in a ceramic coating for their car.
I have not tried this method myself but the results in the video do look very good and a friend of mine is very happy with the results as well. https://youtu.be/byKcYsEyWGk

I’m sure it’s good, but what a lot of work. I do use the clay bar a couple of times a year with spray wax and it always comes out sweet.

That's about the extent of my efforts as well.

You should have a look at the Ammo NYC channel
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYs...TkoxI5D17s1u-w

There is a lot of good information and he works on some stunning cars.

I'm not going to do it myself but I'm seriously considering having my next car extensively detailed then PPF'd. Once you notice the swirl marks, you can't go back.

Last year I did a full prep, polish and ceramic coating on our Pacifica minivan. A lot of real estate to cover with 2-days of work, but the results both long and short term are very rewarding.
Fortunately I have an air conditioned garage which makes a huge difference in tackling this job in our hot and humid climate.

I am a believer in Ceramic coatings but leave the process up to the experts. The machine polishing (eg paint correction) step can go wrong in the hands of a DIY’er hell bent on getting every last swirl out of their clear coat. You have to know when to stop.

Yes, mastering the polishing process requires experience and owning the correct combination of equipment, pads and polishes.

For tight and intricate areas I love my Rupes iBrid:
