Default Shunyata Research's new Performance Line of Power Distributors

Those that follow the company are aware that Shunyata Research have really been on a roll of late with a spate of recents releases of new products that raise the bar for their respective product classes with respect to innovation, performance and value.

The new Alpha and Sigma line of USB cables have been a revelation for many, including me, and the new Venom, Alpha and Sigma line of Ethernet cables have re-set the bar for Ethernet cable performance (Yes, Virginia, Ethernet cables really DO matter). Then there's the innovative & very exciting new line of noise-reducing power cables, Venom NR-V10, NR-V12, & Venom 14 Digital, Version 2 of the very successful Denali 6000 line of power distributors which have been released recently, and Shunyata is working overtime to fulfill orders for all these new products. I'm sure we'll be getting reports in from end-users as these new products get into the hands of customers.

Well, Shunyata Research isn't resting on its laurels, and the new Performance line of power distributors was just announced on their website:

https://shunyata.com/view-power-dist...rformance-line

The new Performance Line sits between the Reference (Denali & Triton) product lines and the Venom line.

Delta D6
The new Delta D6 provides 6 outlets with DTCD Design current delivery, CCI component to component isolation, NIC and GP-NR grounding noise reduction, high-current capability (which means you can use it for powering your power amp or integrated), >40dB of noise suppression, vibration management, "firewalling" of digital components from the rest of the audio system, and a host of other goodies. Priced at $1995, the new Delta D6 outperforms the legendary Triton V1 and V2 for less than half the original price of the Triton v1.

More specs, photos and details are here: https://shunyata.com/products/power-...ydra-delta-d6/.

Alpha A12
The Alpha A12 provides 12 outlets of power distribution, with all of the features of Delta D6, >60dB of noise isolation (), as well as 6 Zones of Isolation. From the Shunyata Research web page:
"The Hydra Alpha A12 features six zones of isolation. The Hydra Alpha A12 (US, AS, EU) is configured in such a manner that each duplex is individually isolated. The Hydra Alpha A10 UK model also features six zones of isolation, with four isolated duplexes and two individually isolated outlets. This design principle provides for a high level of noise isolation while delivering exceptional audio and video performance."
MSRP is $3500.

Link to the Alpha A12 is here:
https://shunyata.com/products/power-...dra-alpha-a12/

Sigma S12
The Top of the Line for the new Performance line of power distributors, the Sigma S12 builds upon the features and functions of the Alpha A12 with 12 CopperCONN outlets, the MED filter technology that was developed for the Clear Image Scientific products in the medical imaging industry, and enhanced vibration management. MSRP is $4995.
Link here to all the info: https://shunyata.com/products/power-...dra-sigma-s12/

These new power distributors look to be pretty cool and offer remarkable performance at their respective price points. When I bought my Triton V1 back in 2012, it sold for $5000. It was a major improvement to my system, a component-level upgrade. Now, 7 years later, one can buy a Shunyata power distributor that notably outperforms it at less than 1/2 the price.

How often does that happen in the world of high-end audio? Ummm...not very often.

More performance, lower price. Or...same price, considerably more performance.

That is what I call a VALUE PROPOSITION and Shunyata Research is hitting on all cylinders...

+1 Great post! I also hear that the new Delta/6000/S v2 from the Reference line is going to be something special. I am looking at one of those for my speaker-plane amplification and Wavelet processor!

Shunyata is definitely on a roll,..killer AES, S/PDIF, CLOCK50 and CLOCK75, balanced XLR, TRITON v3, TYPHON QR, USB, Ethernet and everything else you mentioned!

Yes, I've heard that as well....its going to be another home-run.

Shunyata, is as we say in motor racing, hitting on all cylinders. And the engine is a V-12. I spent my career doing technical product development, and Shunyata is innovating & executing (read Larry Bossidy's book, Execution) like nobody's business! Not just the products, but the IP that the company is producing is extremely impressive, also. I just read the QR/BB patent last week; now that is some very cool technology.

Pretty exciting times, eh?

Now, what is speaker-plane amplfication and wavelength processing? And, can you do a DOE for it?

What is a DOE?

I’ll post a link to an intro on DOE on YouTube after I finish walking the Notorious RBL (Ringo the Black Leopard).

Hi Mark,
A DOE is a Design of Experiments. A statistical approach that lets you examine multiple factors driving or impacting a "functional response" (what's measured) simultaneously as well as examine the interactions between the factors, etc.

Here are a few introductory vids on YT. With your professional background, you'll get the gist of it pretty quickly. Its based on ANOVA.

Thanks...been a while since I thought "stats".

To answer your question, I have a full active setup for speakers. That affords numerous points where the Denali 6000/S v2 can replace point-to-point between digital amplification together with an LPSU+RoomEQ processor device direct into the wall from each device with the new Denali with it DTCD and QR/BB capabilities, etc....in the middle.

The list is;

1000W digital amps in each of 2 Legacy Foundation Subwoofer & Bass Units

2x750W digital amps in each of 2 Legacy Caliber XD Custom-built (1 15amp cord into each speaker)

1 Legacy Powerbloc2 dual-mono (2x325W dual-mono design) driving the high-frequency inputs to the Caliber XDs only

1 HDPLEXX Generation 2 100W LPSU built to drive Legacy Wavelet (takes DC on XLR5 input)

1 Legacy Wavelet which I am using for multidimensional RoomEQ (time also being considered in all the target function evaluations points on the frequency response curve) using the DC power provided by the HDPLEX.
Note that the Wavelet is used with 8 simultaneous outputs to provide the utmost
control over RoomEQ over all 4 frequency major bands L and R (sub-bass/bass, mid-bass, midrange, treble). The Wavelet is also capable of being used as a self-standing DAC and Line Pre-amp via its digital inputs
but I'm not using it in that way as my Esoteric D-02 is driving the Wavelet via its analog XLR inputs.

All this adds to a lot of points where Denali 6000/S v2 I believe will make a big difference with its current delivery and noise-filtering/isolation capabilities.

DOE: Could construct quite the model based upon all the points above I think but frankly I'll just listen and see how I like the result !

FWIW...

More coming? I note that Shunyata's website no long shows Denali 6000T (non-UK) and Triton V3.

I'm sure more distributors will be coming; Shunyata's product development is always on-going, but I will defer to Grant and Caelin regarding any announcements regarding distributors that may be forthcoming.

I was just passing along info from what I recently saw on their web site over the weekend (in between Wimbledon matches! ).
