There is one adjective I can add to these first impressions of the Analog Domain DAC1; "Addictive". When I had to return the unit I felt this knot in my stomach; I guess it must be withdrawal symptoms. I thought I would never see the day, but the McIntosh's are going.

Good luck with the sale Jacques!

But I agree, there is no going back.
That is the danger of demoing good stuff in your own system.
I know the feeling.

Default Analog Domain DAC1 - be careful what you wish for

What can I say; the order for a DAC1 and M75D is out. The DAC with analog input is tentatively scheduled too far into the future, if ever it will materialise, so one of the M75P's will make way for a M75D integrated. Now the agony (the nice kind) of waiting for delivery has begun.

Congrats Jacques!
We both knew this was going to happen...

I don't get it entirely though.
One of your mono blocks will be replaced to have an analogue input?

Thank you Bart.

Yes, the M75D is the integrated version of the M75P. Both can be set to bridged mono mode. The umbilical between both amps remains the same as the one used now. The volume controls of the M75D and DAC1 V share the same design, so I don't require the volume control on the DAC.

Angel Despotov does things differently. The concept of the M75 amps is brilliant in its simplicity, flawless in its execution and unique in its flexibility. Once everything is up and running I'll start a new thread.

I'm setting myself up for trouble though. The Analog Domain Phono Stage will come to market some day and fits the whole concept perfectly....aaarrrghhhh, gotta resist, will not demo at home :-)

A sneak preview; I suspect the AD Phono will have the same cabinet as the DAC, so these pictures come pretty close.
