Default Any opinion on the C-J Classic Sixty ? .....

It uses EL34's for 60 watts/ch. I don't see it on their website but it's out there. Reissue, new old stock new piece? I wonder how it compares to their LP66S and LP70S .... It might be something I'd like to try on my Cornwall III's and Nola Micros.

Thanks!

Joe, you might even consider a nice MV60SE with EL34's. That was a sweet amp, and you can usually find them for about $1200 -$1500. They also made them with 6550's, but not quite the midrange magic of the EL34 version and with your Klipsch the diff between 40 and 60 wpc isn't going to be a big deal.

Jeff,

There is one on Agon now. I can't tell what tubes are in it.

Drop the owner a note... Most of them were 6550 based. The 6550 amp is very good, but the EL34's got a bit of extra sweetness. If you decide that even 40wpc is still way more power than you need, you can send it back to CJ for the Triode mod, which gives even more of that, but drops power to about 20-25 wpc.

it's pretty cool on high efficiency speakers such as yours, and while the Shindo moonies will squeal in anguish, this configuration comes very close...

In numerous past posts, you've claimed to have never heard Shindo. So how could you know the CJ set-up would come close?

I haven't heard Shindo in my system in my room. I've heard it recently in a couple of systems with gear I was familiar with.
