Babylon Berlin on Netflix
I recently had a newborn (kid #5, son #4) a month ago. So that means I'm spending lots of late night/early morning hours looking after him. My binge watching Tivo'd Olympics coverage came to an end Monday, so I looked for another source of entertainment to pass the wee hours while holding a baby.
I came across the German series "Babylon Berlin" on Netflix and so far I'm really enjoying the show. It's a nice break from formulaic Hollywood shows, the German actors acting is first rate, and the show covers an era of German history (Weimar Republic) I find very interesting. It's not a show to watch in front of your kids as it contains the usual Euro-style nudity, and there is some violence. That said, I find it intriguing and fun to watch.

Looking forward to watching that at some point in the not too distant future. I've read most of the Bernie Gunther novels by Philip Kerr, which is about a Berlin detective, covering the 30s and 40s more, but plenty of reference and flashbacks to Weimar Berlin.
Congratulations on the little one! Your kids will be spoiled listening to that system!
