Great car, the 911. The only car that I had that was not either white or black (nod to another post) it was a 911 Turbo cobalt blue or something, just too small but when my kids where young they did sit in the back.

It was quick and tricked out with engine and exhaust performance - always found myself in guys wanting to race on the freeway.

A built in radar system saved me from many a ticket and the ones I did get were dismissed [emoji3]

Those days of fast cars are long over!

What I found interesting is that a C3 Corvette sold in the amount of 30,000 units in 1968 when the population of USA was 200M. 2017 Corvette sales were 18,600 and population is 326M. 2017 also showed a 47% decrease in sales.

The model year 2018 was only for like 5 months. The vette is not as popular I guess is what your saying as in the past? No doubt it has a image problem of being for old guys more than young nowadays. I have noticed young people like my sons don’t care as much about cars, to them it is not worth the expense or trouble however both are living in cities where they walk or would rather use Uber. I think some people are waiting for the mid engine car to be announced .

I doubt it has much to do with the old guy image. Clearly there were many more buyers in 1968 considering the population was much less back in the day. Perhaps it has more to do with the fact that the Corvette has also gone up in price and is not nearly obtainable as it was back in the day for their target client. In 1968, a convertible was $4300 or $30k in today's money. The 2017 convertible is twice that much?
