So to cut a long story short I have decided to use the sub for movies only. For sure it adds a layer but I am not convinced the REL is of sufficient quality to integrate seamlessly with the Wilsons. I am sure a single or pair of Wilson subwoofers would do the job but for music I will stick to the original plan and upgrade to Sasha 2s when funds allow.

The REL is spot on with home cinema though. Thanks for all contributions to this thread.

Using a crossover to integrate a sub as two main advantages. First, it avoids cancellation of the primary and sub bass frequencies. Second, it reduces intermodulation distortion of the primary bass woofers.

Agree. When I owned my Maxx3 and purchased my Thor, Gary Protein told me that I should employ both HP and LP features. He owns Infinity IRS. I previously owned Genesis II. I agreed with him wholeheartedly. Make perfect sense.

However Thor/WC OM plainly stated that running Thor LP only greatly preferred. I was so certain that the HP/LP arrangement was preferable I ignored the OM. Then on a lark after about 8 months I connected the Thor LP only at 30 Hz. The improvement was very noticeable. Since that time with both my Alexx and XVX I run LP only. It is a mystery why with Wilsons running LP only seems to work the best. Any comments?
