Default Portable Jump Starter

Got stranded at work the other day when my battery died and no one was around to jump start the car. Based on this, I want to buy a portable jump starter. Looking for recommendations as Amazon reviews are all over the place for these units. Would like to buy 2, one for my VW Golf R and the second for a BMW X3.

Anyone have recommendations on a unit they have been happy with? I'm never opposed to buying more power than I need!

Thanks - Steve

Default Portable Jump Starter

Noco makes some really nice chargers and boosters.

NOCO Boost Plus GB40 1000 Amp 12V UltraSafe Lithium Jump Starter for up to 6L Gasoline and 3L Diesel Engines

I've used this several times and it works great on both my car and my lawn tractor.

Another option; I keep a spare marine battery fully charged and ready to go. It's fired up my vehicles several times after I somehow manage to leave an interior light on overnight.

Thank you everyone. I'm going to give the Noco Boost a try. 1 Day shipping from Amazon so I should have it tomorrow. If it looks good, I will buy a 2nd.

Do any of these have longer leads on the battery connections? Seems like these days a lot of cars have moved the battery to the trunk in less than accessible locations. Now you just get a positive and negative post under the hood to connect cables to. In my Audi S4 they are close enough the portable jump pack leads (I have one just like what Jack posted) can reach, however in my wife's Audi Q5 they are far enough apart the leads won't reach both posts. Seems most of the portable jump packs have leads that are really meant to be used directly on the battery where the terminals are not far apart.

You just need to put the negative on any bare metal. Doesn't have to be the battery terminal.
