Quite on purpose. I have not ever posted or displayed my system on the "Mac Show Us Your System Before". I believe it is about time. Took a lot of work to get this system situated, especially the speakers. Other than the fact that it is rather unique, there has been some discussion about McIntosh amplification not working well with a speaker as expensive as an XVX (330,000.00 big ones). I run the XVX off the 4 ohm tap and it sounds superb. I wouldn't dream of running off the 8 ohm tap. The bass is superb as I knew it would be. I wouldn't dream of an amp other than a 1.25 KW or a pre other than a D1100. I think Mac amplification (pre and power) and sources (MCD1100, MVP881, MR87) one of the best values on the market and it has allowed me to concentrate my funds on cables and speakers.

Urei, I glad you like it. Most of my work has been posted under "Charles System" in Member Systems Forum" which is the most appropriate. But I wanted to post under Mac Forum to demonstrate the compatibility of McIntosh with really expensive gear. As a child I grew up with McIntosh and have remained loyal throughout the years. I truly love McIntosh, more than any other brand, but if it didn't sound good, I wouldn't have it. It sounds great with my Wilson XVX.

WOW! I only wish you lived close enough to Boston for me to pop over for a listen.

I am curious about the dimensions of your room relative to the XVXes. How far are they from the walls, ceiling, seating position, each other? Were extensive room treatments required?
