Yeah, I fell in love with the NHT 3.3's and 2.9's when I first read about them in Stereophile Mag. I was only 18 back then, but always told myself I was going to own a pair of them one day. And so here it is!

They do sound excellent and I'm quite surprised at how good this receiver powers them. I was expecting weak or flabby bass and possibly grainy highs. Not so. In fact, the top end of this receiver sounds more like tubes than anything. And the bottom end is very taught and natural. Both extremes are very extended and detailed with no overemphasis.

The Onkyo is actually a very good match, hence why I'm selling my Monarchy Audio amp. The Monarchy is a great little amp, but even when just powering the top end of the 2.9's, it doesn't really sound any different than the Onkyo. I'm impressed.
