Good for you. The downside to a Wingmaster (and all pumps) is they are generally regarded as the most difficult configuration for clays of any sort. Don't get discouraged. I just purchased Batha's "Breaking Clays" to read. Always like to know what I am "supposed" to be doing. Also, Cabela's has S&B 20ga ammo on sale for $4.49 thru the 29th. Worth while to pick up 2-3 cases if you are going to do any amount of shooting/practice.

I am amazed at the number of people here are shooters, audio enthusiast and into sports cars

Just an observation

Now back to sporting clays...
As a long time shooter trap, skeet and sporting clays, I would recommend an over and under or a semi auto as the best for any of these venues. You concentrate on seeing the bird rather than worring about seeing, moving pumping and shooting. You know about walking and chewing gum.

I have shot with some truly great shooters who have used pump guns but they were an exception.

Just my thoughts

Next round for our group is this Saturday. Not 65 like today and tomorrow, but the predicted 48 is just fine for Feb 4.

Read Batha's "Breaking Clays" this past week. Excellent book that does a good job of discussing the whys and how's of the sport. Will reread after Saturday's escapade to see if I can pick up my errors.

OK.... up to 21/50 today with a 3/4 and a 4/4 (followed immediately by a 0/4, of course). The book has helped immensely, just have to do as it says. Will try again in a couple of weeks. Another 50% improvement and I'll break 30. Am really enjoying the Ruger Red Label with the 30" barrels. HIghly recommend if you are in the market for an O/U. 300yd any rifle, any position next Sunday. Also great fun.

Dunno........... most of the gun manufacturers stop production on their product runs and then bring them back periodically. S&W stopped making the Models 19, 25 & 29 for about ten years and now they are back as popular (or more) as ever. Would not surprise me to see Ruger do the same.

Just got back from a great day @ M&M (S Jersey), one of the premier clubs in the area.
Been trying to work my way out of my shooting 'blues' as of late (haven't seen a 40 in almost two months). Managed a respectable 82/100 on the novice/intermediate course but was actually happier with my 36/50 I shot on the advanced course. Brought out the Benelli Super Sport in hopes that a change from my O/U's would help me concentrate better......ie...keep my damn head in the gun !

If any of you clay shooters in the Philly area have not tried M&M, do so, it is a very enjoyable layout.

Dave, I haven't been there yet. I'll check it out, thanks!

A '40'? What's that?
Nice shooting, Dave. By anyone's standards.
Everyone is welcome to join in our 20ga O/U challenge match at Cedar Creek. But, think we would bore you as we are not serious clays shooters (indicated by our scores). Plan to get out the weekend of the 18th and maybe once more before we start the serious competition of silhouette (March 3rd, 10th & 17th)) and high power (March 31).
