Default 2019 BMW 8 Series Coupe Debuts

.

____________6-15-2018

" After a 20-year hiatus, the BMW 8 Series coupe is returning to the U.S. The range-topping two-door made its official debut today and will go on sale this fall.

BMW hinted at the new model’s appearance last year when it debuted the 8 Series concept.

Unfortunately, the production version doesn’t look quite as sleek as that model, but BMW took the most important design themes to heart. "

" M Performance variant will be available at launch. "

Really BMW, that's the rear end? Looks a mess to me.

4,478 lbs. Why anyone needs a $100k+ coupe that weighs as much as an suv is a mystery to me.

Probably handles as good as a UPS truck and I hope it didn't take 20 years for that design. Sorry if anyone pre-ordered one.

As my friend says about his 2017 Porsche, "....got the Tiptronic as it is a 2-seat luxury car and not a sports car." Current curb-weight (which is generally lighter than actual) is as high as 3600+. My last Porsche was listed at 2315. As he states, no longer a sports car.

As for looks, the new Series 8 coupe is a little bulbous at the front on first look. However, seeing one in real life may change that impression.

One thing that has surprised me in our recent visits to Madrid, Barcelona, Montpellier, Lyon & Paris was how few luxury sports cars we saw. That said, we missed this by a couple of days.......... http://www.redhorse.fr/ Hope they had better weather than we did. Cool, wind & rain on our day in Grande Motte.

Well, it's way out of my price range but I still think it's a nice ride.

Don’t get it? If you didn’t know any better you’d think this was simply a new 6 series design.
