(specially at the end) with Rogue One. I haven't watched Solo, but I hope it retains some of that. If it's like 'The Last Jedi' then it's going to be another bore.

Huge Star Wars fan!
As a stand alone film, Solo was rubbish. If it’s the intro into a new story, then it only goes from being rubbish to being ok. Naturally the last 5min made you want to hang on for the next instalment. From what I understand, the Star Wars spin-off movies will take a similar formula to the Marvel universe. There is a Solo movie, next a Kenobi movie and then a Fett movie. While all being their own films, the storylines will all intertwined. This was the first Star Wars movie I did not see opening day (or even in the first week). The films are just rubbish now and despite being such a big fan I’ll end up waiting for blu-ray to see them. Just boring! The movies need Vader back!

Solo: A Star Wars Story
Barely enjoyable, a wreck that is salvaged by the cast noless, despite having to chew through lines that do the story and lore a great disservice. Alden Ehrenreich, all things considered, does capture the swagger of Han Solo and makes the best of what is given to him. He is not to blame for this sterile abomination.
Although some scenes stand out for highlighting grim aspects of the Empire never shown before they feel very disjointed from the majority of the film. The film redefines what “shallow” means, when handed one of the greatest canons of the modern age. Ron Howard, the director, seems to be clueless as to what makes Star Wars the living, breathing universe that it is and how characters make it their stage as they play out their fates. They had one chance to tell Han’s origin story and they blew it. You can say what you want about “The last Jedi” but for the most part they didn’t play it safe. “Rogue One” brought grit and heart to the Star Wars universe. Solo has none of that and most unforgivingly is devoid of heart and soul...and aren’t those just the two singular qualities that make the character Han Solo who he is ? I haven't seen it and from the trustworthy feedback, I'm in no rush, which is very
disappointing. I have always given the series the benefit of the doubt even with the ones that haven't been up to par. I'll have to stream it when it becomes available. What is going to happen to Episode IX.... They still have one year to correct it.
