Caelin must have meant the ARC VSi75 :
The Audio Research VSI 75 Integrated Amplifier Review | STEVE HUFF PHOTOS Agree that this is another great contender within given price bracket, that is if Mike doesn't mind a tube unit. |

It is good enough they could have put a REF on it.

Mike mentioned solid-state and 100wpc+.
The McIntosh integrated amps with their signature autoformer outputs all make 150wpc, or more. I thought the MA6600 was a terrific integrated amp and would guess the newer models are every bit its match. All are well under $10K. Also, the larger of the current Bryston integrated amps, the B135, looks like a very nice piece and I've always thought very highly of the Bryston gear I've owned. Another big plus - both made in NA.

How about some weighing in on McIntosh vs Accuphase. Say MA7800 vs E360? Pretty close in price. I'm sure there are some who've heard both and can comment.

Here's a recommendation you probably won't see all too often. Vincent Audio SV-237 hybrid integrated rated at 150w per channel and my favorite part, the first 10W of pure Class A goodness. (or previous version SV-236MK) Comes in at about 1/4 of your budget and I think it could make you happy for a lifetime! I had the McIntosh MAC6700 and enjoyed that - especially all of the features. But if I'm being 100% honest, the Vincent had the ability to put a smile on my face every time I fired it up

If you want to really be shocked, get a NAD 375BEE. I was absolutely blown away by mine when I got it. It stands up against my Ref5/Ref75 combo when driving Sasha's. It's not quite as lush and involving, but man, it costs 15 times less. I know it sounds crazy, but when I hooked it up, I was in awe of it when I gave it a world-class source and speakers.
You might be able to borrow one from your dealer, too. I think Ivan sells NAD now too. |

+2 on the NAD. I still use my 356bee SE integrated in my hangar system, and I continue to be happy with its performance.
I am curious about the MA6600, and now the PrimaLuna Dialogue Premium HP integrated, although the latter is tubed.
