Gentlemen.......Thank you for your compliments. I have a feeling the MC75 honeymoon will last a long time.

Late to the party here. The new amps look amazing and I'll bet they sound even better than they look. That's saying a lot!

I'm sure you will enjoy them for many years to come.

bunski.......I am assuming you meant MC75, and yes a pair of MC75's does outperform an MC275. As a previous owner of three MC275 amplifiers, operated both in stereo and mono modes, and now an owner of a pair of the new MC75's, I can tell you the MC75's are in a different league all together.

I've run a pair of MC75's with a C1100 for a couple years now and have been extremely pleased.

MCenthusiast.......I'll bet the C100 and the MC75's sound amazing together. Both the preamp and the amplifiers are dead quiet. The faintest of sounds come from the darkest of backgrounds. I am running my MC75's with a C2300 and I am extremely pleased with the performance.

Your signature shows a wonderful sound system. Happy listening.

Dan, what do you contribute to the higher level of performce of the MC75's over the MC275's?

I haven't compared a bridged pair of MC275's to the MC75 mono blocks so I'll leave that discussion to Dan and others who have.

The McIntosh website comparison tool shows the specs between the MC2310, MC75 and MC275 as follows:

S/N below rated output: 117dB 110dB 105dB

Dynamic Headroom: 1.2dB 1.5dB 1.2dB

These specifications show that there are measurable differences between the designs. My take is that mono blocks generally have inherent advantages over their stereo equivalents given their separate signal paths and additional power supplies and some of these advantages may well apply with a bridged pair of stereo amps. The MC75's are a great choice with well matched speakers delivering amazing dynamics but there are obviously better choices out there for less efficient loads.

Bill.......For a complete answer I would refer you to the McIntosh MC75 MkIII Amplifier Review.
