One of my “ECL94S” tube in my Monbrison has problem and I need to replece the pair. But I cannot find ECL94S anywhere... I read from the web that the tubes Monbrison using are actually ECL84. Can anyone shed light on this? Much appreciated!

ECL94S is a phantasy name, it never existed. Re-branded tube.

Ignore the troll.
Why do you need a pair? Its not a push pull amp, its a preamp. |

Thats my point, no such thing as a matched pair. Each one is in a different channel. They're not working "as a pair."

Monbrisons have historically used the ECL82 (6bm8) tube.

Not in the twelve years I've been importing them. You'd have to go back about 15 years to find a ECL82 in a Monbrison.

bigdish, Jonathan can get you a replacement. I needed one for my Monbrison and he had it shipped direct from Shindo. Just stick with the factory replacements. They are a known quality.
I agree that we are accustomed to think we need a matched pair for whatever we are doing. But I had no issues just getting one tube. |
