3pm today represented 125hrs of continuous burn in on the Eclipse 6 and I can say that my opinion has down a complete 180 degree turn.
I have three tracks that represent my references when doing any critical listening. They are Aja by Steely Dan-original 1977 recording: School by Supertramp from Retrospectacle, The Supertramp Anthology-2005: Blue and Green by Gretchen Parlato from The Lost and Found-2011. The most immediate change with these cables is the bass line. With all three tracks, I heard a more powerful, yet tight bass. On School, the sliding bass guitar near the end of the score was “rock out” fantastic. My head was bobbing like I was at standing front row, hands on the stage and at their concert. Rogers’s voice was natural and clear, the many layers of music were defined and the soundstage was open with lots of bloom. For me, Aja is all about Steve Gadd on the drums. This guy is amazing and Aja really lets his talents run free. The double kick drum slams through your chest with authority. The high hat and crash cymbals are clear without a hint of distortion. His solo near the end of the song gave me goose bumps and I found myself grinning. Gretchen Parlato is a piano, bass, drums and vocals. With Blue and Green, the soundstage really widened with clear definition where each instrument was placed in the recording. Like the other tracks, the vocals were clear, clean and neutral (well more like Sonus Faber’s version of neutral) which is how I like it. The cables are not forgiving though and have made me aware of my ugly 10x12 room configuration. I now have the need for additional room treatments to absorb the extra bass power. The higher up the sonic ladder you climb, the more unforgiving the desire for musical truth becomes. The cables have eliminated the weakest link in my audio chain. The next logical step is to sell this house and buy another one with a bigger listening room. A man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do. Last edited by bodiezaffa; 10-26-2011 at 06:37 PM. |

It's really no wonder Wireworld's sales are up nearly 300% from last year. Keep us posted on further improvements!

Great read Bodie! It's interesting to hear you talk of how the bass seems tighter, the soundstage wider, and a better separation of instruments. I ordered some WW cables from Ivan a while ago as well. Even though they are a few steps down from what you have, I'm hearing the same types of things. I can be so fickle when it comes to cables but I love the way my system sounds with these in there. I'm enjoying the music instead of finding things wrong with it. Now I just need to swap out the rest of my non-wireworld cables and I'll be all set.
Until I plan on moving up their line... |

Bodie...great image-conveying writeup. Like bakerman, I've had a similar experience with another Wireworld model. Based on that, I suspect that your Eclipses will really flesh out at around 200 or so hours, so don't be surprised if--no, make that when--it keeps getting better.

Ive been thinking about changing my interconnects to WW as well. I have heard many reports of the increased dynamics when all the cables are from the same manufacturer.
My issue is I have really expensive interconnects. I didnt pay anywhere near the $1600 retail cost but nonetheless, Dagago rated the Aural Symphonics Chrono B2 as better than the Valhallas. Still.......i wonder..... |

Mark, I went all-in on WW Silver Eclipse 6's, so you already know my advice.
