I agree fully and can understand easily that the best performance from Shindo electronics are obtained when used with the adequate intended speakers : high eff, load of 16 ohms or above and lightweight paper membranes.
But freedom of use with other speakers should not be denied.
I hope to be able to visit A23 in Germany one day and listen to my Shindo amps with adequate speakers. In the mean time, I am supremely happy with my "non recommended" speakers.
This may be just a preconceived idea but my guess is that Wilson, Harbeth and other modern designs are more neutral and balanced than speakers using the "old drivers" technology.

Darrin- What Country are you in, if you don't mind my asking? I'd love to catch a listen to your setup. My dealer doesn't have the CV391, but it's supposed to be excellent. I heard it's a nice jump from the 6V6 Montille, still a great amp in it's own right.

I grew up in Montreal, Canada (So I can enjoy Jerome's postings in two languages, although my french is a bit rusty) but live now in California. If you are ever on this side of the coast...feel free to PM me.

Hard to imagine everything will get better as it breaks in.

here is a poor photograph.
Beautiful system and setup. Clean and simple!
