Default Wrong yard buddy

Hey Mr. Copperhead -- too bad you can't tell all your buddies out there -- because now you are in the land of copperhead virgins. But should you have lived to see the day, and pass the word not to ignore the "snakes not allowed" signs in my yard -- you would have met The Judge. You were lucky though -- you were on my brick patio today -- Mr CHK HOE got ya instead. Guilty as charged though.

Best sirs,

Bob

P.S. Officer, I know I live in city limits. I'm an old military veteran -- my hearing is terrible --- so I didn't hear anything and the lady that reported the bang sound is a known troublemaker.

Don't blame you one bit for shooting it.

However, they are a beautiful (if you can quantify the color) snake. I came across one, over in Missouri, in a fairway on a golf course once. All I wanted to do was get closer to it and admire its color.

Here at one of the courses I play, an older gentleman hit his ball about 10 feet left of the last cut & into some medium tall grass & found his ball rather quickly. Bent over to pick it up and zap.

Copperhead got him --lost his 4th finger, right hand & pinky movement is sporadic. Hasn't golfed well afterwards. Was in hospital for 8 days.

If I see a copperhead especially -- he's a dead duck (if I can get to a hoe or have that .410 pistol with me). They are super aggressive and look for trouble.

Besides, the subdivision I live in is small, 79 homes & with many young children & most everyone works in their yards, gardens, etc. So, better him than us.

Best sir,

Bob

Ivan...I will admit I have also failed...I couldn't resist this beauty, a Ruger SR762 (.308/7.62x51 NATO) in an AR10 configuration.
